PANAGIOTIS ROUMELIOTIS, MEMBER, A.D.G.I INERPOST

  • Panagiotis Roumeliotis is Professor of International and European Economy, Panteion University of Athens.

  • He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from the University of Paris, Sorbonne, (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales) and a PhD in Economics (Doctorate 3eme Cycle)from the University of Paris II.

  • He is Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Institute of International Relations, Panteion University of Athens as well as Chairman of the French Institute for the Economic Perspective of the Mediterranean World.

  • From March 2010 until December 2011 he served as Alternate Executive Director and he was also the Greek representative at the International Monetary Fund

  • He has served as Minister of Trade and Minister of National Economy

  • In 1989 he was elected Member of European Parliament and in 1997, EU Special Representative for the Stability and Good Neighborliness in the Balkans. In 2000 he was elected Chairman of the Working Table on Democratization, Human Rights, and the Rights of the Minorities of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe.

  • Since 2012 he is Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Piraeus Bank S.A. (non executive member)

  • He is the author of several books and articles and various publications
